At Copper Detection Services, no situation is too complicated or unique for us to handle. We primarily work with drug rehabilitation facilities but also have experience working with churches, warehouses, schools, nightclubs, and a variety of other private businesses. Services can be customized to fit the needs of your facility. Our teams routinely perform searches of buildings, vehicles, personal belongings, and outdoor areas. We only utilize canines that give a passive alert, meaning that they will sit, lay down, or point when target odor is located.
When an alert is made by the canine, we offer you the freedom to handle the situation on your terms. Everything is handled professionally and confidentially. For a business this means you can keep narcotics out of your establishment and avoid any of the negative attention that comes with involving law enforcement.

BUILDING AND VEHICLE SEARCHES
ROVING SECURITY PATROLS
SECURITY CHECK POINT AND LUGGAGE INSPECTIONS
Our teams have extensive experience conducting building and vehicle searches, both interior and exterior. We primarily conduct searches in drug and alcohol treatment facilities but have provided our services to residences, churches, private businesses, and clubs.
A roving K9 team will patrol a designated area for the length of time they are on shift. Their job involves a mix of deterring crime by being visible and spotting incidents as, or even before, they happen as well as locating any present narcotics. This service is increasingly popular during visitation, when there is increased risk for contraband being brought in.
A canine team can be posted at an entry or security check point as well as luggage intake area to screen entrants for contraband. Check point inspections are a great way to ensure safety at events or large facilities. This makes the security screening process much faster and less intrusive than if done by a security officer or staff member alone.
We also offer testing of any suspected narcotic found, this service is available upon request.
WHAT SETS US APART
Our canine/handler team is highly qualified and experienced. There are many posing as professional detection teams but most lack real world experience or any formal certification.
We are fully insured and canine/handler teams are certified annually by two internationally recognized organizations using a double blind testing method. This type of testing exceeds the standards of many law enforcement agencies, who do not use double blind.
Most private detection canines are only trained using pseudo narcotics and are not certified, our teams are certified using only actual narcotics.
Our canine has been through rigorous temperament testing and holds an internationally recognized title that combines temperament testing and high level obedience to ensure clients get a reliable and trustworthy canine.
Handlers also receive Opioid Overdose Response Training and carry Narcan to prevent an overdose in the event that a client, canine, or handler become exposed.

As much time as we spend training the canine what odors to alert to, we work just as much on training what not to alert to; distractions like food, toys, and medications that have no abuse potential. This greatly reduces the chance of a false alert.
We strive to be the best at our profession, teams train daily and regularly attend continued learning seminars held by top instructors in the detection industry.
Our teams are full time professional detection teams that work at real world jobs every week, this level of experience cannot be replicated with any amount of training
We have field test kits available if a suspected narcotic is located similar to what law enforcement uses that will identify and verify the substance.
Handlers perform a quick safety sweep before allowing the canine to search, we have found dangerous items such as knives, razor blades, and needles that the canine is not trained to detect.

OUR CANINES
Copper has been training in scent discrimination since she was 9 weeks old. She has hundreds of hours training and takes her job very seriously. When a target odor is found, Copper will respond with a passive alert by sitting, laying down, or pointing. Copper will alert to the odor of Heroin, Marijuana, Cocaine, Methamphetamine, MDMA/Ecstasy, K2/Spice, Ketamine, PCP, LSD, Suboxone, Xanax, Klonopin, Valium, Gabapentin, Kratom, and opiate based pain medications such as Fentanyl, Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, and Codeine.
Our Current Credentials:
Certified Narcotics Detection Canine with both World Detector Dog Organization and American Society of Canine Trainers
Certified on Heroin, Marijuana, MDMA/ecstasy, Methamphetamine, and Cocaine.
2022 Selected to represent the US at the 27th World Tracking Dog Championship in Poland
